Creating Product Variants

It is known that on Shopify, you don’t have an option of developing more than 100 product variants, which is where the Product Options App comes into play. With our app, you can add different variants to your products, which gives your customers smoother shopping experience.

Are you selling T-shirts? With the Product Options App, you can now offer the same T-shirt model, only with different colors. Are you selling furniture? Now you can offer your customers the same type of sofa in various colors. Are you selling anti-theft backpacks? You get the point. This can be applied to almost any product imaginable.


  1. How can I apply product variations?

    It mainly depends on the type of product that you are offering. But, as we said, it is much more difficult to find a niche or an industry in which you cannot apply product variations than the ones where you can.

    The one common denominator is the price. If you have one product in different variants, where all of those variants have the same price and selling conditions, that’s all you need.

  2. Is it possible to use bulk discounts for variations?

    Yes, it is. Within the HulkApps ecosystem, you have many more options available to you. The Product Options app works smoothly with our Volume Discount app, and you can assign bulk discounts to your variations when you combine these two.

Product Templates

Create a unique set and apply it to all of the products you want. This way, you can save yourself from manually modifying every product page. Just create one set and then apply it to as many products as you like.


  1. How many of these can I create?

    You can create as many as you need. The way to keep track of them is straightforward. You go to Option Sets and create a set. After that, you assign a set you created to the products to which you want it to apply. You can choose as many products as you like.

Product Personalization

With this option, you can offer additional product customizations to your buyers. These customization options are often certain product add-ons that customers can get for free or with additional charges.

For example, if you are selling T-shirts, you can offer long-sleeve options, which can be free or paid.


  1. What kind of personalization can I do?

    You can go for many different variants; the only limit is your imagination. Still, don’t go too crazy. Remember to consult with your old friend - common sense.

    Think of different upgrades that you can offer. Your customer may think it is worth paying extra for materials, design patterns, widgets, and everything else.

  2. Can these personalizations be free for customers?

    Yes. You can create them to be available with a certain charge, but they can be free as well. This completely depends on you and your financial calculations.

Third-party Warranty Coverage and Carrier Insurance

Some customers like additional security and guarantees they will get their product on time and without defects. You can enable this with Product Options by incorporating third-party warranty coverage as an additional option.


  1. Can I make this option available only to some customers?

    Yes, you can. If you would like to allow only your premium subscribers to have this option, you can do that by assigning them a tag (we will discuss this later in more detail).

    You can also make a list of your most loyal customers and allow them to have exclusive access to this option.

Special Options for Holidays or Different Products in the Store (gift wrapping or seasonal touches)

Create a unique experience for your customers by adding holiday extras to their purchases. We have a lot of options for gift wrapping so that they receive the product in the spirit of Christmas, Thanksgiving, or any other particular event of your choosing.


  1. What exactly can I offer to my customers?

    As we already mentioned, you can offer your customers to get their products gift-wrapped for holidays, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. Another great thing is that the customers can create a unique gift card message which will put a smile on the face of anyone who receives the gift.

Creating Product Add-ons and Cross-sells

Cross-selling is one of the most potent marketing tactics. With Product Options, you can offer your customers complementary products to go with the primary product they choose. For example, if you are selling smartphones, Product Options enables you to automatically offer your customer a nice phone case to go with it or some earphones. Or both.


  1. What are the benefits of cross-selling?

    Many, many benefits can come your way from cross-selling. And to the customer, as well. But let’s talk about yours.

    First of all, it is just an easy sale, and it is as simple as that. It imitates the “anything else” question that you always get in stores, and this question has been working wonders for merchants throughout history, and it can do the same for you now in the digital world.

    Also, it increases customer loyalty because the more products one customer gets from you, the more likely they will buy again.

  2. Can cross-selling be applied to any business?

    Pretty much, yeah. There are some exceptions. For example, if your company only sells one product, or if you have inventory limitations that prevent you from efficiently doing cross-sells.

Upsell and Product Inventory

Even though you might be happy with selling a basic variant of your product, why not try and upsell? Everyone knows the best moment for upselling is when the customer is ready to buy the initial product variant.

You can offer your customer a more expensive product version with Product Options. Just modify the product settings and offer a more expensive variant in one of the columns.

    The point of upselling is to show the customer all of their options so they can make an informed choice. It shows customers you care about them and know what they want.

    At first, it seems obvious that a lot of upselling brings in more money and makes more money. When salespeople and departments have to meet specific quotas, successful sell-ups help them reach their goals.

File Upload (For Custom Branding Products)

There is nothing like being able to get a custom-made product just for you. With the File Upload Option, you can give your customers the gift of being able to design their products.

They can simply upload a design they would like on their product, and you can turn it into reality for them.


  1. What is the size of the photo a customer can upload?

    The maximum size of the file that a customer can upload is 20 MB.

  2. Is there anything else?

    As per usual, there is. You can allow your customers to write custom text on their products. Maybe they have a special occasion or a funny line they thought of (or found on the internet) and would like to show it to everyone. Why not give them that option as well?

Size chart

If you are selling clothes or shoes, there is a big chance that your customers would like to have all the information they need about the sizes from which they can choose.

With our Size chart, customers can see what sizes are available, as well as some additional information about sizes themselves (like the number of centimeters that make up the M size, the L size, etc.). You can modify this chart the way you like.

Specific Date Delivery

Help your customers manage their time by choosing when they want to get their orders delivered. Usually, customers like the fastest possible delivery option, but sometimes that is not the case.

Whether it is about them not being able to get the delivery because they might not be at home, or perhaps they are looking to get it on a special date like a birthday or a holiday, it doesn't matter; the choice is theirs.

    Shopify Shipping is a shipping service that is offered and implemented by the Shopify Team. In detail, it gives merchants, like you, access to calculated rates through DHL, UPS, and USPS, so you can leave that part to them and devote your time to more important tasks at hand.

  2. How long does it take for my package to be delivered?

    Depending on the location, carrier service, and package size, delivery dates can vary from 2 to 30 business days to the destination. Additionally, customs and other control procedures influence this time as well. To avoid miscommunication, the best option is to consult with your carrier of choice before setting up the option in your store.

Price Listing Specific for Different Types of Customers (Different Pricing for Wholesale or Bulk Buyers)

Manually select them and assign tags to completely control the offers and possibilities different customer groups have when accessing a product page.
